Michael Clark  – Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Clark brings 30+ years of extensive general management, company repositioning and proven turnaround experience in the energy technology, electrical manufacturing and defense industry sectors. His career spans countrywide assignments with Fortune 50 companies, including Westinghouse Electric Corp. and Thomas & Betts, Inc. He successfully managed a $150M global P&L, served on the management team growing a distressed Silicon Valley firm from $10M to $100M+ and led an award-winning strategic marketing organization for a half-billion dollar division of a major multinational. Mr. Clark has been active in clean tech and distributed energy-related boards, US Department of Energy-related events, and national conferences and associations. He holds an MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, a Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering and has completed 4-year and 2-year theological studies programs at St. John Vianney Seminary.

Edward Gruben – Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Gruben brings to the Company over 30 years’ experience in financial and tax consulting. Mr. Gruben was the Chief Financial Officer of an internationally recognized name in the capital markets that specializes in the securitization of financial assets. During his tenure, Mr. Gruben was involved in $400B+ of structured financings. He attended the University of Colorado where he earned a BSBA in Accounting and Physical Sciences, with extended studies at the University of Denver’s Graduate Tax Program. Upon completion of his studies, he began his career as a field agent with the Internal Revenue Service and subsequently practiced accounting in the tax department of a national accounting firm. Among Mr. Gruben’s credits are current membership in the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also has conducted seminars in financial planning, real estate development and tax-sheltered investments. Mr. Gruben served on the Governor’s Task Force on Public/Private Housing Strategies.

Larry Adams – Chief Technology Officer

Larry Adams leads the research and product development activities. He has 40 years in distributed energy, combined heat and power, gas turbines, inverters, energy storage, plant controls and energy management applications. He has designed and developed various real-time embedded microprocessor controls and has deep knowledge and expertise in Systems, Embedded Systems, Digital, Electro-Mechanical, Analog, Software, Firmware, and Communications. This experience has been demonstrated in a wide variety of industries: Commercial, Energy, Military, Utilities – in large established companies, as well as in start-up organizations. He has previously worked for Woodward Governor and Kohler Power Systems.

Larry was the Principal engineer for the development of one Encorp product – the Microgrid Controller, designed to interconnect and control a variety of generation assets and loads in an island or non-islanding state. This product development effort was funded through a multi-year DOE/NREL/Gas Research Institute (GRI) research and development contract.

He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Wichita State University and MS in Computer Science from Colorado State University. He has multiple inventions with awarded patents as well as several industry publications.

Shaun Hoskinson – VP Engineering & Operations

Shaun, with deep expertize in the software, communications and SCADA fields, is responsible for managing the multi-competency engineering efforts leading to the successful implementation of over 400 distributed energy projects worldwide. He has a combined 18-years with the company, having also spent seven (7) years leading software engineering development and coding efforts with SunGard Financial Systems. There, he developed expertise in enterprise-level end user applications. Early in his Encorp career, Shaun traveled the US and the world gaining hands-on experience commissioning distributed energy projects for critical government and military installations as well as premium power commercial & industrial end users. Shaun played a critical role in the research & development of new Encorp technology and industry-leading products, including the recently-introduced Encorp Egility control platform.

Shaun attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa has and has an Associates of Science degree from Aims College and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Regis University.

Angie Freeman – VP Business Development

Ms Freeman drives the business development activities and manages select strategic accounts and projects. Previously, Angie served as director of business development for Oskar-El, a premium electrical control panel manufacturer and industrial automation company located in Sofia, Bulgaria. Angie was responsible for the company’s strategic business development initiatives, key partnerships with companies such as Technip France, Thermon France, COMECA, strategic alliances with companies such as Schneider Electric and Westinghouse, and major projects implementation. Prior to her engagement at Oskar-El, Angie was business development manager for WIRSOL, a global solar energy integrator with over 6,000 installations totaling more than 410 MW. At Wirsol, Angie was responsible for developing the Eastern European solar utility scale market and managing relationships with key commercial customers in the US.

She holds a BA in International Business and MS in both Political Studies and Finance from Sofia University, Bulgaria. She also has an MBA from Colorado State University. She is a native Bulgarian speaker, is fluent in French, English and speaks passable Russian. Angie has lived and worked in France.

Michelle B. Stalnaker – Director Human Resources

Michelle is the Director of Human Resources for PI and has been with the company since its inception. With the support of the executive leadership team, she has built the framework of the HR department and has implemented multiple HR policies, practices and procedures.
Prior to joining PI, Michelle worked for the West Virginia High Technology Consortium Foundation (WVHTC) where she was a Commercialization Analyst. In this capacity, she helped companies and entrepreneurs with investment funding and entrepreneurial training.

Michelle holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Human Resource Management from Marymount University (MU) and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from Fairmont State University with a triple major in General Business, Marketing and Management. Michelle is certified by the Human Resource Certificate Institute (HRCI) as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and by the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) as a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). She also serves on the NOVA SHRM and HRLA of Greater Washington Board of Directors and remains active with her alma mater, Marymount University.

Darrell Thornley – Industry Advisor

A mechanical engineer by training, Mr. Thornley has practiced in the power and process business arenas in both private industry and governmental sectors for over 30 years. He has experience ranging from journeyman tradesman to engineering, construction and project management. Business experience includes project development, finance, joint venture formation, sales, and operations and maintenance responsibilities.

Mr. Thornley has held seats on the boards of industry associations, is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Association of Energy Engineers, and Society of American Military Engineers. He has been a speaker and panelist at industry-related conferences and seminars throughout his career. He is the inventor of the patented engineering process (US patent # 92,026,260) for the Secure Microgrid®, a comprehensive engineering process for developing robust microgrids.

Mr. Thornley provides technical consulting services through DT Energy Consulting, LLC, to a diverse client base including the US Dept. of Energy, the Houston Advanced Research Center (HARC), Non-governmental organizations and Industry clients.
